Welcome to Lea Roussos Psychotherapist, LMFT MFC38398

 

Lea, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has a Master’s Degree in Psychology as well as a Master’s Degree in International Management.  She has extensive experience as a psychotherapist and international business.  This diverse experience in both therapy and business has given her an aptitude for understanding people from all different backgrounds.  

 

The goal of therapy is to help clients cope with personal conflicts, stress and life issues.  Lea believes that each of her clients have the “expertise” to stand up to their personal challenges.  She works collaboratively with the clients and their community of support.

 

The client does not represent their diagnosis but rather the sum of all their strengths. Lea helps provide tools for clients to access during difficult times.  She incorporates mindfulness meditation to enhance clients success in therapy.

 

Specialties include:

  • Eating Disorders (including anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating, disordered eating)

  • Families (including children, adolescents, families going through divorce, couples)

  • Individuals (including issues regarding low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, life challenges)

  • Lea has completed over 200 hours of certified Yoga training to help her clients connect to their somatic experience during therapy.

  • Lea is trained in treating clients with all types of trauma. She completed the trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)

  • Lea completed a 1 year MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) training to teach clients to be present to their internal experience.
